David and Victoria Beckham are reportedly planning a publicity campaign to boost Brand Beckham following David’s discrepancy with fans.
It is claimed Victoria, 35, is planning a number of damage limitation TV interviews with Oprah Winfrey and David Letterman as she tries to hold on to the LA dream.
David, 34, was heckled by fans at his first game back for LA Galaxy after a five-month loan to Italian club AC Milan. Fans were reportedly furious at his lack of commitment to the club and David had a confrontation with one fan.
A source said: “Victoria works hard on the image of Brand Beckham. She has always been eager to promote them as the perfect couple. David arguing with fans doesn’t really fit in with that image and she was embarrassed.”
It is claimed David now wants to return to a European club but his wife is keen to stay in LA.
A spokesperson for David said: “He and the family are happy in the States. There was an issue with a small minority of Galaxy fans, but the overwhelming majority have been very supportive.”
