Roman Polanski won’t finish The Ghost

Roman Polanski won't finish The GhostRoman Polanski will be too late to complete the film he was said to be due to finish while in jail.

The fugitive director has been granted a £2.7 million bail that releases him to house arrest in Switzerland.

Earlier, he was said to be intent on completing the movie, titled The Ghost, from jail.

But Polanski is out of time. Robert Harris, the author of the novel on which it is based, said: “The film is completed now. It was done in his absence, but I think all the instructions had been left. The timetable was such that it had to be done without Roman.”

What exactly lies ahead for Polanski once he goes on house arrest is uncertain. US authorities have vowed to seek his extradition on 30-year-old child sex charges but the emotional case is riddled with international diplomacy.
